¶ “My name is Chris and I’m an E-Bay Addict!”

Monday, September 19th, 2005

I was doing so well.
Been saving my cash, (well not going too much into overdraft).
And then the fishing bug took over (again), all those toys to buy, all the technology !
I now know what a high modulous carbon fibre rod is and
the difference between boot foot and stocking foot waders. All thanks to EBay.
Then the […]

¶ Jenny takes a wee swim

Sunday, September 18th, 2005

Well friday was the big day.
We had to head off to file our tax returns.
It seems that every Australian has to file a tax return and that means we have to pay someone to explain it to us.
Anyway we arrived at the office a bit early so we thought we would walk the […]

¶ Time to build an Ark?

Sunday, September 11th, 2005

It’s been raining all day.
So a quick trip out for coffee and a windswept and wet walk on the dog beach kept Fungus’ sighs of boredom to a bare minimum.
Really, if I wanted sighs and big brown eyes saying “I’m sooooooooooooo bored!”
I’d go back to work.
Rain isn’t always a probem here as we are on […]

¶ Gloriously Lazy Day

Saturday, September 10th, 2005

One good side of teaching is the long holidays (and the short ones)!
Today was spent avoiding the pouring rain, [must remember to pump waer into our drinking water tanks].
Friends gave us a box full of goodies which we spent the day trying to hide from, but they eventually found us so we had to eat […]

¶ How the mighty are fallen!

Tuesday, September 6th, 2005

Bloody hell.
Just got back from the hardest workout I have done in ages.
Running behind Jenny’s mother’s house is The Pipeline Track a gently sloping gravel track as wide and as smooth as one could wish to cycle. I decided to do something about my lack of fitness and toddled off for a wee cycle. […]

¶ Meanwhile what has the lovely Jenny been doing?

Monday, September 5th, 2005

Jenny decided to get even fitter……..
SO she took up triathlon…..
Eventually she took part in the Hobart International Triathlon.
Twice round the harbour, yes the one we all pee in on New Years Eve, then 40 km of hill climbing in the back streets of Hobart Town then a wee run (10km), one girl completed it even […]

¶ House work (yes I am really that fat these days)

Monday, September 5th, 2005

Firstly the house was Jetwashed, blasting a couple of millimetres ff the house’s exterior, then treated with acid and mould wash and finally two coats of oil. Fungus (our ‘fur child”) enjoyed trying to work out what the hell we were upto.

Not a bad job, even if I say so my self

¶ I have been told there aren’t enough pics of Tasmania here sooooooo…….

Monday, September 5th, 2005

Our house is vertical baorded Tasmanian Oak (gum to you northern hemisphere dwellers).
The previous owners had allowed it to become “silvered” as they liked the look of the natural greying caused as fungus and bacteria ate it. We didn’t like the idea of our house rotting so we spent a fun week blasting it and […]

¶ The holidays are here at last

Monday, September 5th, 2005

Finally after the longest term in educational history (or maybe it just felt that way) we haev started our spring holiday. 2 weeks off school and even a pay day at the start to make us smile. One thing I have had to get used to is the quaint Australian of paying everyone once a […]
